LONGING FOR SEA
BOY TAKES LAUNCH MAGISTRATE SYMPATHETIC Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. The longing to go to sea was given as the motive which led a lad aged 14, one of a family of 12, to take a launch which disappeared from its moorings at New Brighton. He was committed to the care of the child-welfare officer. Mr. E. Mosley, S.M., said that an endeavour would be made to get the boy a job on a farm, and later, if he still had a desire for the sea, to get him placed on a ship.
