COMMISSION TO INQUIRE

AUSTRALIAN COAL (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) CANBERRA, Thursday. In the House of Representatives the Prime Minister, Mr. Bruce, announced that the Federal Government would appoint a commission to -inquire into the whole question of the coal industry. No definite steps would be taken, however, until the negotiations with the interested parties now being- carried on were completed. Mr. Bruce added that the Federal Government had discussed the matter with the New South Wales Government, and had concluded that it was essential in the interests of the industry that if there were to be no further reduction in the sale of coal there should be a reduction in the price.
