SUCCESSFUL TRIAL TRIP CONTROL BY ONE PERSON (United P.A. —By Telegraph — Copyright) (United Service) LONDON, Thursday. A new all-electrical ship, the Brunswick, 9,000 tons, built at Scott’s yards, Greenock, for the American Oil Company, to-day made a successful trial trip on the Clyde. From the captain’s bridge one person at. a switchboard operates the vessel. ' Four Diesel engines drive dynamos which generate the electricity that in turn drives the motors geared to the propellers. The ship is steered automatically. The performance of the Brunswick is being closely watched by shipbuilders throughout the world, with a view to the possible equipment of future passenger vessels on the Diesel electric principle.
