MAN KNOCKED DOWN POLICE MAKE INQUIRIES After knocking a man down in Khyber Pass last evening the driver of a motor-van drove oft without stopping to make any inquiries. Neither has he reported the accident. The police are making inquiries. The injured man. Mr. Charles Clareborough, was walking along Khyber Pass at about 9.30 o’clock and stepped off the footpath to avoid obstruction. As he stepped on to the roadway a passing motor-van knocked him down. One of his legs was broken and lie was taken to the Auckland Hospital for treatment. Mr. Clareborough is a visitor from Manawaru, near Te Aroha. His injuries are not serious.
