STAFF DANCE

ELECTRIC CONSTRUCTION CO. ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME An enjoyable dance was held by the staff of the Electric Construction Company, in the Manchester Unity Hall last evening. An excellent orchestra provided bright dance music and several items were contributed during the evening by Mrs. Robertson, Miss Raw, Mr. Moffatt and Mr. Sharp. Among those present were: Mrs. Finkeyman, who wore nankin blue taffeta and gold lace. Mrs. C. J. Huston, in a-frock of crocus mauve georgette and diamante. Mrs. Robertson, whose frock was of leaf green crepe de chine and g-old lace. Mrs. R. Skinner, in claret satin panelled with silver lace. Miss L. Coyle, wearing jade georgette beaded in crystal. Miss A. Ramsay, who wore wistaria crepe de chine inset with ivory lace. Miss Alma Cole, wearing apple green taffeta banded with velvet. Miss P. Slaughter, frock of delphinium blue taffeta. Miss Buckley, in larkspur blue crepe de chine. Miss E. Raw, powder blue frock of crepe de chine. Miss G. Shirley, frock of mignonette green georgette embroidered with crystal. Miss B. Shirley, apricot shaded frock of talfeta. Miss M. Slaughter, lotus rose frock of crepe de chine. Miss Irwin, pompadour pink crepe de chine frock. Miss Mina Deery, black from of crepe de chine. Miss Gaukrodger, iris mauve georgette inset with silver lace. Miss K. Donohoe, ivory frock of satin crepe. Miss Allan, frock of opal green pleated georgette. Miss Deery, phlox pink crepe de chine hennned with ivory lace. Miss Anderson, frock of gold tissue and tulle frills. Miss E. Lury, moonmist blue georgette and silver lace. Miss Ellis, black taffeta frock relieved with sedge green. Miss Campbell, blue and tangerine brocaded frock. Miss Richardson, canton jade taffeta and parchment lace. Miss I. Dillicar, jade green crepe de chine with hem of silver lace. Miss Walding, frock of silver tissue and mist blue taffeta. Miss Stanley, petunia crepe de chine frock. Miss McGavock, iris mauve georgette and silver lace. Miss Hurfit, nasturtium taffeta and tulle frock. Miss Turbott, jade green frock embossed with silver. Miss M. Pearce, georgette frock of flame shading. Miss B. East, thistletuft green frock of taffeta and lace. Miss Deane, frock of sea foam green crepe lido and gold lace.

RECEPTION AT Y.W.C.A. MEMBERS MEET NEW PRESIDENT A reception was held yesterday afternoon in order that members of the Young Women’s Christian Association might meet their new president, Mrs. Bradstreet. The hall was decorated with clumps of bamboo, flax and foliage with bowls of daffodils everywhere. The guests were received by Mrs. Bradstreet, Mrs. Dickenson, Mrs. T. Clark and Miss Jean Begg. Mrs. Dickenson introduced Mrs. Bradstreet. She ©aid that the responsibilities which confronted the new president were too great for any single pair of shoulders to bear, and asked that everyone present should realise that they had to do their share of work. Later, Mrs. Bradstreet replied and thanked Mr©. Dickenson for the opportunity that had been given her for meeting the members. A short musical programme was given by Miss Asher, who sang, and Mrs. Boyd, who played pianoforte solos. DANCE AT DEVONPORT RATEPAYERS FORGET CARES The North Devonport Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association held another very successful social in the Foresters’ Hall, Devonport, last evening. Monte Carlo waltzes -were won by Miss McLean and Mr. Baldock, Mr. and Mrs. B. Smith. Music for the dancing was supplied by Mrs. Lawrence and Mr. Follas. Miss G. Smith was secretary. The committee, Mesdames Smith, Gibson, Ewington, King and Hunt, and Misses Smith, Morgan and Stevens supervised the refreshments.

Miss Laratt, apple-green talfeta. - Miss Morgan, mandarin blue charmeuse and ecru lace. Miss Campbell, coral rose georgette frock. Miss King, flame frock of taffeta. Miss D. Gibbon, cinnamon crepe de chine. Miss V. Gibbon, leaf-green taffeta. Miss B. Gibbon, black satin crepe . Miss P. Huggins, apricot crepe de chine. Miss L. Huggins, iris mauve crepe de chine. Miss M.
