New Museum used For First Time

Institute Council Meets Yesterday’s meeting of the Council of the Auckland Museum and Institute was held in the board room of the new Museum Building. This is the first time the building has been used. In his report the curator, Mr. Gilbert Archey, announced that the transference of the exhibits from the old building had been satisfactorily completed on August 8, and the building had been handed over to the purchasers. In moving the adoption of the report the chairman, Mr. H. E. The curator announced that there had been 26 accessions to the collection since last meeting. M. Browne; a greenstone adze, from Mr. Hallyburton Johnstone; a nreplough and stick found at Huia, from Mr. J. Hinge; and a very old keyed Kent bugle, from Mr. J. W Levey. Important additions to the war collection had also been received.
