Round the Churches
A peace pact thanksgiving service will be conducted by the Venerable, the Archdeacon of Auckland, in St. Matthew's, Wellesley Street, to-mor-row morning. In the evening the Girls’ Friendly Society festival will he held, and his Grace the Archbishop will preach. * * * Canon Percival James will preach at the morning service at St, Mary’s. Parnell, to-morrow. In the evening the preacher will be the Rev. Walter Averill. A public meeting will be held in the Manchester Unity Hall, Hobson Street, on Tuesday next, on the subject of the “Two weeks in the world to-day.” The Associated Churches of Christ will hold services as usual to-morrow at Ponsonby Road, Dominion Road, Onehunga, Richmond. Devonport, Point Chevalier, Avondale and Mount Albert. * * * The Rev. AV. Gilmour will preach at both services of the Edendale Presbyterian Church to-morrow, and the Rev. J. Pattison at both services of the Somervell Church. * * * To-morrow evening at the Spiritual Scientists’ Church at Newton, Mrs. Tlarris-Roberts will give an address on “Foundation Facts of Religion.” Services will be held as usual at the First Church of Christ, Scientist. Symonds Street, to-morrow. The speaker at the Grange Road Baptist Church to-morrow will be Miss A. L. Cowles, of India. In the evening the Rev, A. S. AA r ilson will speak. At 10 o’clock in the morning an Intermediate Endeavour Society will be formed, making three Christian Endeavour Associations in the church. The Rev. C. G. Scrimgeour will deliver the third of a series of addresses at the Methodist Central Mission, opposite the Town Hall, to-morrow evening. It will bo entitled “Up to the Waist.” A spiritual Evangelistic service will bo conducted by Mr. A. Burgess at
the Progressive Church of Spiritualists, Alma Street, Newmarket, to-mor-row afternoon. The Rev. Arthur Mitchell will preach at both services to-morrow" at Si. John's, Ponsonby Road. His subjects will be “Man’s Greatness” and •'Characteristics.” • * * Mr. E. Batts, a Baptist College student, will conduct both services at the Royal Oak Baptist Church tomorrow. * * * Mr. V. T. Drew will lead the menV meeting at the Y.M.C.A- at 4.15 tomorrow afternoon. The soloist will be Air.". I. Lilly.
