“A THIEF IN THE DARK” Another Majestic monster entertainment commences to-day. Both in the day-time and at the evening sessions a delightful and attractive programme will be presented. After a bright introductory march by the Majestic Orchestra, a merry Aesop Fable, “Clean-Up Week,” will bo screened. This will be followed by an exceptionally interesting film, “A Trip to the Auckland Zoo,” and a Majestic News, which contains, among many scenes of Keech breaking Campbell’s motor speeding record at Florida, San Francisco yacht racing, the new and sensational German rocket-car doing. 15G miles an hour, the world’s biggest airplane—the British Inflexible—and the American horse Cri de Guerve, winning the French Grand Prix. Last, but not least, on the supporting programme is a hilarious comedy. Then comes the chief pictorial attraction, “A Thief in the Lark,’ a chilling fun drama of spooks and cooks. The plot depicts the efforts of a gang of side-show crooks to rob a wealthy jewel collector and his attractive granddaughter. The crooks fail in this, but the leader kills the old man. The all-star cast which interprets the various roles, includes George Meeker, Marjorie Beebe, Loris Hill and Gwen Lee. At the matinee in the afternoons, another scintillating programme is being presented for the kiddies. This is headed by a gorgeous pantomimed “Cinderella’s Honeymoon.” In addition to the 50 talented little juveniles, Lame Lurden and little Willy will be there, and will provide lots of fun and humour The opening scene depicts a gorgeous wedding. Picture-goers will be taken to Jazz Land, to Spain, to see the brilliant and spectacular revels, on an enchanting trip to Lotus Land, and on a hilarious trip to School Land, where the school is conducted by Madame Lurden. A brilliant supporting pictorial programme will also be presented. This will be headed by “A Thief in the Lark,” a great mystery drama, with Marjorie Beebe and Gwen Lee. A screamingly funny comedy, the Majestic News, and "A Trip to the Auckland Zoo” will also be shown. Mr. Whiteford Waugh's talented Majestic Orchestra plays a delightful musical programme. “Ruy Bias” (Mendelssohn) is the overture, and other gems are, “Miranda,” a clarinet solo by Mr. J. McGregor; a trombone solo by Mr .Syd. Sly, "Paradise Is Mine.”
