RESCUE FROM FIRE

FATHER AND CHILDREN NEIGHBOURS LEND ASSISTANCE Press Association. DARGAVILLE, To-day. Fire at 8.30 p.m. yesterday practically destroyed a six-roomed house in Awakino Road, owned by Mr. J. Bershing, and occupied by Mr. H. Potter. The fire had a good hold when the alarm was given. The house was a fairly old one and burned fiercely. Mr. Potter was in bed at the time of the outbreak, and three of his children were in the house. With the assistance of neighbours all were successfully rescued. Very few effects were saved. The house was insured, but the. amount is unavailable. No insurance was on the furniture. The occupant’s loss is substantial.
