THE PLAZA AND TIVOLI

BIG PROGRAMME TO-MORROW “On Your Toes,” the latest Reginald Denny picture, a thrilling boxing story, and the intensely dramatic film of the lives of circus performers, entitled, “Life’s Circus,” will be shown for the last time at the Plaza and Tivoli Theatres this evening. Hungarian court life in the days when Emperor Charles held sway in Europe’s most brilliant and colourful court, forms the background for Billie Dove’s latest starring vehicles, _“The Yellow Lily,” commencing l at these theatres to-morrow. The story goes behind the scenes of royal life in Budapest only a few years ago, and mingles intimate romance with its exotic colour and intrigue. It was adapted from Lajos Biro’s famous Hungarian play, also called “The Yellow Lily.” Clive Brook plays opposite Miss Dove in this elaborate First National picture. “The Yellow Lily” is not only Hungarian in locale, but in point of view, and it offers novelty to spectators, as well as colour and exotic romance. A famous Hungarian director, Alexander Korda, directed it. Biro, the playwright, is Hungarian. So are many members of the •cast. Moreover, costumes and properties used in the picture were imported directly fro*r Hungary. Milton Sills, the popular actor who was last seen in “Burning Daylight,” will be seen to-morrow' evening in an entirely different role. In the photoplay, “The Hawk’s Nest ” by reason of disfigurement to his face, he has secluded himself in Chinatown since his return from the World War. Here he operates a night life resort and it is only after an operation bringing into play the science of plastic surgery, that he comes out into the open.
