PANTOMIME AND PICTURES ' Only to-day and to-morrow remain for Auckland picturegoers to see the programmes which are being presented in both the afternoons and evenings at the Majestic Theatre. In the evenings, the programme has as its chief attraction, “Across .to Singapore/' a thrilling and beautiful sea story, with Ramon Novarro. star of “Ben-Hur,” in the leading role. Mr. Whiteford Waugh’s popular Majestic Orchestra provides an excellent musical programme, specially featuring “Lo, Here the Gentle Hark as in interlude. Many delightful gems from Mendelssohn, Tschaikowsky and other famous masters are played. Miss Lillian O’Leary’s talented “Midget Moselles” are appearing on the stage in the evening, and present a delightful programme of song and dance. During the daytime a special programme is being presented for the school children. A gorgeous pantomime, “Cinderella,” is being presented by Miss Lillian O’Leary’s talented pupils. Over 50 talented juvenile performers appear in this elaborate stage spectacle. The story of “Cinderella” is used as the basis of a spectacular production, crammed full of delicious comedy, gorgeous dresses, and in live beautiful scenes. A full pictorial programme also screened is composed of “Across to Singapore,” a thrilling sea story, an hilarious comedy, and the interesting Majestic Magazine. On Friday at the Majestic another huge programme will be presented, both during the afternoon session and in the evening. In the evening the chief attraction will be “A Thief in the Dark,” a thrilling mystery romance, with Gwen Lee and Marjorie Bee^be. The picture is of the spooks and house-of-mystery school, with hilarious situations, and exposes at least one method of conducting a fake spiritualistic seance. * Mr. Whiteford Waugh’s Majestic Orchestra will provide the usual highclass musical programme. At the afternoon session only another huge pantomime will be presented. This will be “Cinderella’s Honeymoon ” and takes the audience to the b%iutiful Lotus Land, to Jazzland, and to Spain. Then there will be an extremely clever school scene, the school being conducted by Dame Durden. A delightful pictorial programme will be screened also. , DIXIELAND CABARET Another enjoyable mid-week dance will be provided at Dixieland Cabaret this evening, when dancing will commence at S p.m. The floor is perfect for dancing, the surroundings exceptionally comfortable, and a happy time is assured. The Dixieland famous dance band will supply the music.
