PHONE BOX RIFLED

CONTAINER WRENCHED OFF A slot telephone box at Mount Eden, near the railway bridge, was rifled some time last night. The coin container had been wrenched off. It was found this morning in a nearby yard, where the thief had taken it to extract the pennies. During the last few weeks several telephone boxes throughout the suburbs have been interfered with. These offences are difficult to prevent.
