MT. ROSKILL ROAD BOARD
YESTERDAY’S MEETING The Mount Koskill Road Board, which met last evening - , decided, to send a letter of appreciation to the Mount Koskill Fire Brigade for its promptitude in suppressing a fire in Lynton Avenue on Friday last. The Wesley Trust intimated that it had agreed for the board to proceed with the drainage for both sewer and stormwater purposes of the trust’s property off Dominion Road. If the board makes the drain large enough for the future requirements of the Three Kings watershed, the trust undertook to complete the roading of this area within a year of the completion of the drainage. A request by Mr. G. Parker that hjs rates for the current year, £2 7s 6d. should be remitted, on account of improvements he had effected in Three Kings Road for a distance of 200 ft., was refused. The Health Department having taken exception to septic tanks being installed in small residential allotments in clay areas, the board decided that they shou’d not be allowed. It was decided that the resolution that all plans of subdivision be referred to the board’s town-planning committee should be rescinded. Mr. S. I. Goodall was unanimously elected chairman of the Finance Committee, vice Mr. T. Davies, who has resigned. Albert Hansen was appointed poundkeeper and ranger. The tender of R. T. Eastman (£510). for laying stormwater pipes in Albert Road, was accepted. The general account is £6,100 in debit. Permits were granted for the ereofion or alteration of 16 buildings to the value of £4,454. One guinea was voted toward the Labour Day celebrations for the purchase of children’s prizes.
