BIG WEEK AT HUNTLY NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP (From Our Own Correspondent) HUNTLY, Tuesday. The Webster Shield Soccer competition for primary schoolboys in the North Island opens at Huntly to-day, and the mining town is en fete for the occasion. Hawke’s Bay failed to nominate this year, and this leaves Auckland. South Auckland. Wellington and Manawatu to battle for the honour. Wellington is the present holder. The competition will probably extend over three days, and if arrangements can be altered an endeavour will be made to play the final on Saturday. If not. Friday will see the completion. The teams are as follows: Auckland.—Haywood, Miles, Yarnton, Clist, Webster, Fraser, Sims, Capel, Gibbs, McKenty, Dixon, Cameron, McKenaie, West. Manawatu.—Lodge, Turnbull, Allen, McShane, Straker, Busst, Kendall, Zimmerman, Metcalfe, Pepper, Russell, Free, Morgan, Davidson. Wellington.—Violich, Brewer, Denliehy, Vaney, O’Dea, Fisher, Gibson. Mackie, Bray, Janes, Calnan, Wiren, Barnard, Barlow. South Auckland. —Stirling, Topliss, Berry (captain), Lumsden, Pawson, Powell, Robinson, Stevens, Spence, Bassick, Marshall.
