WANTED—NORTHLAND CARD

TF the Northland Trotting Club is sincere in its intention to race on Labour Day it is high time it made owners and trainers acquainted with the prospective bill of fare. The country club should recognise that it will cater in the main for horses ineligible for competition at the Auckland October fixture, and owners of those in the secondary division cannot be expected to put their charges in work unless there is something definite in view. The fixture at Whangarei will fill the bill admirably, but until owners can get some definite information relative to the value of the goods on offer they cannot be blamed for holding off. With only two months till the date of the fixture the schedule should be announced and unless the club ‘‘speeds up” in this respect it will find a lot of prospective speed kings absent when the entries are due.
