STEAMER LOST?

FIVE DAYS OVERDUE (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (United Service) PANAMA CITY, Sunday. Reports that the steamer William A. McKenney had been lost with 14 men in a storm on the Californian coast, gained credence to-day, when the motor-ship Santos arrived. She reported the loss of the second officer, who was washed overboard in a heavy sea off the Californian coast. The William A. McKenney was five days overdue from Balboa, en route to New Y"ork from San Pedro. The William A. McKenney was a steel screw steamer of 5,555 tons, built at Newport News in 1916, and owned by the Mystic Steamship Company of Boston, United States. The Santos is owned by a Swedish company.
