DUE MONDAY NEXT 'VSJIRELESS advice received by L. V» D. Nathan and Company states that the White Star liner Corinthic is expected to arrive at Wellington next Monday evening from London
and Southampton. The liner is bring- I ing general cargo from London for 1 discharge at Wellington and Lyttel- I ton, and passengers and mails from Southampton for disembarkation at Wellington. PARRACOMBE ARRIVES. —With a full cargo of 7,000 tons of hardwood from Bunbury, the steamer Parracombe arrived in the stream at Auckland at one o’clock this morning and berthed later at Central Wharf to put out thp local portion of her cargo. The vessel, which was launched in January this year, was engaged for some time in the Morocco— South American trade. She then took a cargo from Morocco to Fremantle, and after discharge proceeded to Bunbury to load for this voyage. She sailed from the West Australian port on August 4, and four days alter arrived at Newcastle to coal. Moderate weather was experienced across the Tasman. The Parracombe was built early this year by Messrs. W. Gray and Company, Limited, at West Hartlepool. She is owned by Pyman Brothers, Limited, and is registered as 4,698 tons gross. Captain J. H. Hall is in command of the Parracombe, and associated with him are the following officers: Chief, Mr. L. Storm; second, Mr. J. J. Murray; third, Mr. F. W. Hodgson; chief engineer, Mr. W. A. Gates; second, Mr. C. Peel; third, Mr. H. Melnores; fourth, Mr. C. E. Larkin; wireless operator, Mr. K. J. Hawker. The local agents, Messrs. Russell and Somers, Limited, advise that they hope to dispatch the Parracombe on Saturday nexz for Wellington and Dunedin. She will then proceed to Ocean Island to load phosphates for either New Zealand or Australia. TRANS-PACIFIC CARGO SERVICES.—The Waihemo, which left Wellington on Friday, is due at Melbourne on August 24, and proceeds thence to Sydney, where she will complete discharge of her inward cargo. She clears Newcastle on September 5 for Vancouver, via Fiji. The Wairuna left Los Angeles on August 16 for Papeete, Auckland, Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin and New Plymouth. She is due at Papeete on August 31, and at Auckland on September 31. The Waiotapu, from Suva, arrived at Vancouver on August 31, and loads at Powell River, Union Bay, and Ocean Falls, clearing the latter port on August 25 for San Francisco and Los Angeles, thence Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney. She clears Los Angeles on September 4. The Waikawa, from Lautoka. arrived at Vancouver on August 12, and loads at New Westminster, Powell River and Union Bay;; she is expected to clear the last-named port on August 26 for San Francisco direct, thence to Los Angeles on September 3, to complete loading for Apia, Auckland. Nelson, Bluff. Melbourne and Sydney. She clears Los Angeles on September 6. The Hauraki left Suva on August 2, and was due at Vancouver yesterday. She loads at San Francisco and Los Angeles for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. The Waitemata, from Newcastle, arrived at Suva on August 15. and proceeds thence on Thursday to Vaneou ver, San Francisco and Los Angeles, to load for Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Nelson, and New Plymouth.
