Hailstorm at Taihape. —Several business premises were flooded after a heavy hailstorm at Taihape on Saturday. Collinson and Gifford’s largo drapery establishment suffered to a great extent, as a large quantity of water poured through the roof on to the asbestos ceiling, a portion of which collapsed and the water reach<-d the stock on the ground floor, which was soon flooded. The amount of damage done in this shop alone is estimated at several hundred pounds. Other shopkeepers suffered to a less extent.
