COUNTRY PARTY BUSY FRANKLIN TO BE FOUGHT (Frotn Our Oxen Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, Saturday. The Country Political League has been actively engaged in /the Franklin electorate during the week. The organiser, Mr. R. H. Feisst, addressed meetings at Waiuku, Bombay, Puni and Mauku, and strong committees were formed in each centre to assist in the election campaign. According to the organiser. Franklin is to be one of the five or six seats to be contested by the Country Party aspirants. The candidate has not been announced yet. LABOUR WILL CONTEST HAWKE’S BAY SEAT Press Association. HASTINGS, To-day. Mr. John Lyon has been selected ns the official Labour candidate for the Hawke’s Bay seat. MR. NOSWORTHY TO STAND Press Associatioyi. ASHBURTON, To-day. The Hon. AV. Noswortliy, in a cablegram to the Mayor of Ashburton, Mr. Galbraith, from Revelstoke, British Columbia, announces definitely that he will be a candidate for the mid-Can-te.rbury seat.
