CHEAPER SERVICE WANTED (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, Tuescbv. An appeal for cheaper telephone services for backblocks settlers was made to-day by Mr. A. M. Samuel (Ohinemuri), speaking to the Post and Telegraph report. People who carved homes for thejLselves out of the wilderness shoul said Mr. Samuel, be given every char l * of hating telephones, even if the a - partment' had to give them the material for the lines, allowing them erect the lines themselves. Mr. Samuel mentioned, also, i matter of rural mail services, ' vh: ' had been mentioned earlier by Mr. Jones (Ellesmere). An endeavour should, he thought, be made to maf the services cheaper.
