CAPITOL
“WIFE SAVERS” TO-NIGHT The two fun-makers, Wallace Beery and Raymond Hatton, can be seen this evening at the Capitol Theatre in "Wife Savers,” a story of the American army of occupation after the armistice. Raymond Hatton is an officer, and is engaged to Collete, a pretty village maiden. An order comes for the American troops to head for home, and Hatton is in a bad way. Collete tells him that General Lavoris will be coming home to the village, and forcing her to marry him, unless there is someone left to devotedly and dumbly protect her. Immediately Hatton thinks of Beery. He orders Beery to stay behind and protect his girl. Wally refuses. He gets a glimpse of Collete, however, and changes his mind, deciding that it won’t be so bad to stay. "Doomsday,” starring Florence Vidor, will also be shown.
The world premiere of “The Trail of ’9B” at the Astor Theatre. New York, was one of the most distinguished in Broadway history, states Metro-Gold-wyn-Mayer. Clarence Brown’s production was greeted with tremendous enthusiasm. "The Trail of ’9B” is a remarkable picture, and Metro-Gold-wyn-Mayer’s most momentous production. Dolores del Rio, Ralph P"orbes. and Karl Dane play the principal roles in “The Trail of ’98,” while the supporting cast of 35 performers is augmented by 12.000 extras. In magnitude and in the number of extras used this picture, which is based on Robert Service’s novel, surpasses even “Ben Hur.”
