CROWDED TRAINS

BOOKING FOR EXCURSIONS Railway traffic was busier this morning than it has been for some months past. Bookings for the winter excursion began this morning, and there was quite a rush to book seats. Now that the schools have closed, parents and children are beginning to travel. This morning’s express for Rotorua carried a large number of passengers, and the Whangarei train was well patronised. There was an unusually large crowd on the Limited, including many travellers who left later by the Tofua for the Islands. Others came into Auckland for the day to attend the football matches.
