East Coast Railway The Railway Department will take over the East Coast railway from Tauranga to Taneatua within a fortnight. The delay was caused by some lastminute alterations which had not met with the satisfaction of the engineers* At present this particular section of the railway is being controlled by the Public Works Department. * * * Car Leaves Road A car belonging to the foreman of works of the Mount Alb irt Borough Council left unattended at the corner of Cricket and Bellwood Avenues at 9.30 this morning suddenly charged the fence at the side of Mr. Cameron’s property in Bellwood Avenue, and went over a bank. It was only slightly damaged.
