PLUNKET SOCIETY

TE AWAMUTU BRANCH A meeting of the Te Awamu tu branch of the Plunket Society was pi’esided over by Mrs. Peake. A statement of head office expenses for 1927-2 S was forwarded by the administrative secretary. The branch’s levy this year amounted to £l2 5s 6d, a decrease of £3 10s 4d on last year’s levy. The nurse’s report for the month of July showed 19 new cases, 59 visits to homes, visits of adults to rooms 157, babies 133, older children 28; total visits, 377; telephone calls, 20; babies under supervision, 143; older children, 27. An offer had been received from the Otorohanga Operatic Society to stage in Te Aw'amutu “The Private Secretary,” half of the net proceeds to go to the branch’s funds. Accounts amounting to £2l 2s 5d were passed for payment. Box donations for the month were £1 18s Ojjd.
