JEWISH WOMEN’S FUNCTION
Wearing 1 a graceful gown of vellumj tinted laco and chiffon, Mrs. David { Nathan, the president of the Auckland | Jewish Women’s Benevolent Society, welcomed a large number of guests at a very successful bridge party held in aid'of the society’s funds in the Jewish clubrooms on Wednesday evening. Streamers and flowers gave colour relief to the rooms, which were crowded with players, who included Mrs. G. Pezaro, who organised the function; Mrs. Yock, the secretary; Mrs. Charles Nathan, Mrs. Alex. Follock, Mrs. Israel, Mrs. R. Isaacs, Mrs. Zukerman, Mrs. P. Herman, Mrs. L. Marks. Mrs. Wight, Mrs. Coleman, Mrs. Laird, Mrs. Russell, Mrs. Abbott, Mrs. Friedlander, Mrs. M. G. Pezaro, Mrs. C. WINTER FAIR i Arrangements are well in liand. for the annual winter fair in aid of St. Mary’s Homes, Otahuhu, to be held in St. Mary’s parish hall on Tuesday. i• ’ charge of representatives of various parishes, and there will be large and excellent supplies of produce, needlework, homemade cakes, and sweets, flowers, books, etc. Contributions to them are being sent from Mangonui, Whangarei, Waikato. and other surrounding districts, and as the maintenance of the homes makes heavy financial demands, it is hoped that the fair will attract many buyers.
