AUSTRALIAN CRUISER
AMERICANS PLAN WELCOME (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) NEW YORK, Wednesday. Arrangements are rapidly being completed for the reception of the Commonwealth cruiser Australia at American ports. The naval authorities, the British Consul and the New England Council are co-operating. At Boston plans have been made for the entertainment of the ship’s personnel when she arrives for a five days’ stay on August 25. In New York a Programme has been prepared with the object of giving the officers and men an opportunity not only of seeing the city but of enjoying the comforts of country clubs, etc. Efforts are being jnade. also, to arrange for them to visit Washington. Despatches from Canada state that the highest officials and the most prominent civilian? are co-operating to make the staj of the Australia at Montreal, Quebec and Halifax special occasions for the expression of the feeling of Empire good-will.
