DOCK PROMISES
S.M. HAS HEARD MANY
“I have heard so many promises from that dock that I have ceased to be greatly impressed by them.” said Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., at the Police Court this morning. Joseph Edward Clapham, who was charged with being found on enclosed premises without lawful excuse, promised that if he were given another chance he would leave for the country immediately “He was found in a wash-house,” said Sub-Inspector McCarthy. “He was in a bad state through drinking methylated spirits, and it is difficult to know what to do with him.” Clapham was convicted and ordered to pay expenses.
