JULY A BUSY MONTH Owing to considerable poverty and sickness July was a busy month for workers of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary. It was reported at the monthly council meeting yesterday, that besides foodstuffs, over 2,200 garments were issued by the depot. The following gifts were authorised: Ten invalid chairs for the surgical wards, three spinal chairs, for the use of girl patients, 12 cane easy chairs for the isolation ward, six upholstered chairs for the old folks at the Infirmary, and two lounges and six easy chairs for the Alexandra Convalescent Home.
