DANCE FOR CANDIDATES A very successful social and dance was held in the Chic Tea Rooms on Monday in connection with the Papakura Roman Catholic Church Queen Carnival. The function was in aid of the funds for the Town and Country Queens, Miss I*. Harrison ano Miss Nina Ralph respectively. The tea rooms were attractively decorated with a profusion of flowers and greenery. Mr. Basil Page lent his dental rooms for Flag Bridge. Songs were contributed by Mrs. R. Lever, Mrs. A. Edgar (Auckland) and Father Duffy and Mr. T. C. Seaton. The winner of the cake was Mr. Arthur Johnson. The winners of the Flag Bridge were Mrs. Basil Page, Mr. and Mrs. Hills. Consolation prizes went to Mrs. T. G. Smith, Mrs. E. C. Foote and Father Duffy. Among those present were: Mrs. Francis, frock of black crepe de chine, with cherry red relief. Miss M. Smith, rose pink georgette and silver lace. Mrs. Lever, black taffeta frock, with touches of mauve. Mrs. Foot, frock of black chiffon velvet. Mrs. Rice, beige frock of georgette and Jace. Mrs. Holland, navy blue crepe de chine. Mrs. Nobbs, black chiffon velvet frock. Mrs. Osborne, navy blue and apricot crepe de chine Mrs. Geraghty, opal blue crepe de chine. Mrs. Renwick, black frock of panne velvet. Mrs. Edgar, frock of black crepe de chine. Mrs. Wright, cinnamon frock of crepe de chine. Mrs Green, black frock, relieved with jade green. Mrs. Curtis, navy blue crepe de chine. Mrs. Hills, fawn crepe de chine. Mrs. Lound, black frock of crepe de chine. Mrs. J. Basil Page, blue sequined frock of black satin. Mrs. Swindale, opal blue crepe de chine, with fawn relief. Mrs. T G. Smith, black crepe de chine frock. Mrs. Cosgrave, flowered frock of crepe de chine.
