Fire at Feilding.—A house in Haggit Street, Feilding, occupied by a Mr. Stuart, was completely destroyed by fire yesterday morning. The family was away at the time. Nothing was saved. —P.A. Fire in Kitchen.—About nine o’clock last evening fire broke out in the kitchen of a five-roomed house owned by Mr. Kerr, at 45 Hinemoa Street. Grey Lynn. The City and Western Districts Fire Brigades made a good save, so that only a little damage was done. Motor-Cyclist's Death.—The 19-year-old motor-cyclist, Hugh Moore, of Kimbolton. who was found on Tuesday by a passing motorist lying unconscious on the roadside by his machine, has died in the Palmerston North Hospital. His cycle is thought to have skidded in the loose metal. Feilding’s Mild Winter.—The weather at Feilding continues to be wonderfully mild. Since the opening of the cricket season last November, sports have continued without one bad Saturday. Spring growth is evident througnout the district. £2OO For Knox Home.—At yesterday’s meeting of the trust board of the Knox Incurables’ Home a letter was read from the executrix of the late Mr Archibald Clements, saying that under his will the home would receive £2OO £15,000 for Yearling.—According to an A. and N.Z. Press Association cable from Vancouver, the yearling colt Saratoga has been sold for the unprecedented high price of £15,000. Saratoga was sired by Whisky Broom LL, who sired Victorian, Whiskery, Diavolo and other champions. He was foaled on March 19 last year.
