BOARD OF AGRICULTURE
INDUSTRY WANTS TO BE REPRESENTED Believing that industry should have some say on the Board of Agriculture, the Auckland Manufacturers’ Association has decided to nominate a member to take the place of the late Mr. Edwin Hall on the board. At the General Committee meeting yesterday, Mr. G. Finn, the president, said it was fair that the business interests should be represented on the board, as the whole of the interests of industry were wrapped up in agriculture. Manufacturing would not go ahead if the land did not, and increase of business must come from the land On the motion of Mr. C. A. Whitney, it was decided to ask the Ministers of Agriculture and of Industries and Commerce to recommend that a member of the association should be appointed to the board to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr. Hall. The Department of Industries and Commerce advised that the Fourth International Exhibition of Inventions would be held in the Central Hall, Westminster, London, S.W., from Wednesday, October 10, to Saturday, October 20.
