ELECTION QUERIES
TWO FROM MANUFACTURERS Auckland manufacturers have two questions to put to Parliamentary candidates. They are: (1) Will you support legislation designed to give adequate tariff protection to local industry against unequal conditions of competition from abroad? (2) Will you support the proposed establishment in New Zealand of n permanent tariff board to inquire into and make recommendations on any suggested tariff revision, with a view to immediate legislation if necessary? These questions were approved by the General Committee of the Auckland Manufacturers’ Association yesterday.
