CARNIVAL DANCE

FOR COUNTRY QUEEN

Visitors from all the neighbouring | districts attended a particularly bright j dance held on Tuesday evening in the j Alanurewa Theatre Royal. The organ- j isation of the function was in the ! hands of the committee of the Catho- j lie Country Queen, Aliss Alarie Darby, j and was headed by Aliss Juckes. A canopy of multi - coloured j streamers and balloons liid the ceiling j and on the stage greenery and streamers ; were effectively arranged. The music j was supplied by Darby’s Orchestra, : and extras were supplied by Air. G. Alurray. Among those present were: Airs. Campbell Jenkins, wearing a frock of black georgette with relief of gold. Airs. R. G. Ross, frock of ivory embossed georgette. Airs. C. 11. White, rose blush georgette frock. Airs. A. G. George, frock of rose du barri crepe de chine with diamante. Airs. K. R. Kelsey, kingfisher blue velvet with gold tissue drapings. Airs. Druce, froek of black georgette, and scarlet shawl. Airs. Alax Friedlander, ciel blue satin beaute, with touches of rose. Mrs. A. Davies, frock of gendarme blue crepe de chine. Airs. A. Dunham, ashes of roses crepe de chine, with lace insets, and shawl. Airs. J. S. Wilcox, frock of midnight blue and silver tissue. Aliss E.
