CLOUDY WATER IN TAPS

REPAIRS AT WAITAKERE DAM

For several days the city water has been in much the same condition as it was a year ago before the filtration plants were in operation, but it is clearing again now. The trouble was largely caused by a cloud burst at Waitakere on Sunday occurring at much the same time as some alterations at Titirangi. New ground in the bed of the lake, taken as the result of heightening the dam wall, disturbed by the heavy fall of rain, dirtied the lake, and some of the water got through to the reservoirs. The filtration plant is all in order again, and all the taps in the city should produce clear water tomorrow.
