From the great organ in the Town Hall there rose the strangely beautiful notes of the Japanese National Anthem last evening as Kobayashi, C. 8., C.V.0., and His Imnerial Highness Prince Takamatsu and the officers of H.I.J.M. BIRTHDAY DANCE A very successful dance was held at Nairn’s reception hall on Alonday, July 30, by Mr. and Mrs. F. Quayle. of Point Chevalier, to celebrate the coming of age of their daughter Nettie. There were about 175 guests, including many engineer- officers of the Jt.AI.M.S. Aorangi and their wives. Dancing was enjoyed by the guests until midnight. Airs.
