Vice-Admiral Kobayashi, C. 8., C.V.0., his Imperial Highness Prince Takamatsu, and a number of officers from H.I.J.M. training squadron, were enterk tained by Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Roberton at their home in Remuera. Other guests included Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rhodes, Mrs. John Roberton. Mrs. Pierce, Mrs. Upton, Miss Pierce, and Miss Upton. Mrs. Robert Burns and Miss Elizabeth Burns, of Remuera, will leave Auckland soon for Sydney on their way to England. Miss Lex Pownall and Miss Kendall, of Wellington, will arrive in Auckland next week and will leave . later by the Tofua for a holiday in Fiji and Samoa.
AZURE AND GOLD AT CHEMISTS’ BALL EFFECTIVE DECORATIONS Potted shrubs and ferns, graceful festoons of blue and gold streamers and suspended baskets of gay balloons, made an effective setting for the charming frocking of the guests at the Chemists’ Annual Ball at the Scots Hall last evening. Excellent dance music was supplied by the Dixieland Orchestra, under the leadership of Mr. Harry Neilson, and during the evening Miss Margaret O’Connor and partner gave an exhibition of the Yale Blues.
