PORT RETURNS
IMPROVEMENTS SHOWN SHIPPING AND CUSTOMS Last month’s figures showed an improvement in the Auckland ship, passengers and customs returns, but the total for the seven months of the year is still down. Motor goods showed a sharp increase, tyres jumping from £lO3 customs value to £4,287, while the amount from benzine, exclusive of petrol tax, rose to £15,665, an increase of £12,680 on the June figures.
