Finder of Necklace Not Guilty of Theft

The charge against a young city ]businessman, Michael Maher, of stealing a pearl neclclace valued at about £9OO, was thrown out by the grand jury at the opening of the Supreme Court criminal sessions yesterday. Maher found the pearls at Ellerslie Racecourse. Mr. Justice Blair, in reviewing the case in his charge to the grand jury, remarked that the case for the Crown was admittedly weak, as the accused was apparently holding the pearls for a larger reward.
