RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM
“NOW WE’RE IN THE AIR” William Haines is the star in “West Point,” which will be shown this evening at the Rialto and Regent, Epsom. Theatres. The story of “West Point” revolves around the life and romance of a cadet in that seat of learning, the actual college itself providing a fascinating background to the picture. Bumptious youth meeting love for the fitst time, playing liavoc with tradition and discipline, here is a ‘wonderful opening for the Haines technique, and what good use he makes of.it! Joan Crawford proyides the romantic element, opposite William Haines, and William Blakewell, Neil Neely, Ralph Emerson and Leon Ivellar appear in the splendid supporting cast. “Now We’re in the Air,” the second attraction, is one of the most enjoyable pictures ever made by those two comedians, Wallace Beery and Raymond Hatton. “A Dog of the Regiment,” the Master picture soon to be released in New Zealand, is the first of all the star’s thrillers in which he dies. He not only rescues his pal an American ace, from a burning plane, but escapes with him in one, and being ordered to be §hot, again whirls to the sky and safety. Most exciting of all Rin-Tin-Tin’s films, and that’s saying a lot. Ross Lederman directed.
