DAMAGE TO LORRY CAUSES FAILURE
BANKRUPT CARRIER (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, To-day. With debts set at £417 and no assets, Clarence McCormick, a motor driver of Hamilton, was examined by Mr. J. H. Robertson, official assignee, to-day. No creditors were present. In a statement bankrupt attributed his failure to the partial burning of his lorry on the Auckland-Hamilton Road, and the subsequent seizure of the vehicle by Newton King, Ltd., who had a bill of sale and an insurance policy on it.
The assignee adjourned the meeting, agreeing to call another if the creditors so desired.
