POWER AT ORAKEI
RETICULATION WORK FOUR MILES OF STREETS TO BE WIRED Four miles of streets are to be wired to supply electric power in the Orakei block. Erection of poles and wiring will be begun shortly. Negotiations are continuing between the Lands Department and the Auckland Electric-Power Board regarding the reticulation of the main roads on the block. The board will require an assured income from the area. The first house on the block is now nearly finished and the building of a second is in hand. The complete wiring system will not be undertaken until consumers are ready to take power. It is considered that reticulation should be put in hand as soon as possible in order that new houses can be linked up as they are erected.
