WIRING THE PONY
USE OF BATTERY THREE DISQUALIFICATIONS (United I*.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) MELBOURNE, Monday. Mr. S. Kelly, the owner of the horse Hallowe’en, the jockey, J. Hook, and R. King have been disqualified for life for the alleged usp of an electric battery on the horse in a race at a Richmond pony meeting.
Skipper Price has not neglected to enter his favourite mare. Native Star, for the three unhoppled items on the Addington card, in which the limits are respectively 4.39. 4.38 and 4.37. The daughter of Native King and Muriel Starr, will now be on a hard mark, but she is one of the best in the Dominion, and the task will not dishearten her. The Palmerston North mare is one that will always require to be considered when the crack-a-jack trotters meet. Dillon Huon Can Go Fast Hillon Huon’s recent performances were of such an attractive nature as to suggest the Hawera pacer would see Addington during the new season, and this is quite possible, as the son of Harold Hillon is nominated for several events on the New Zealand Metropoliton card next month. There is some good prize-money offering in classes that suit Hillon Huon. and as he has at last shown an inclination to do things properly there is a chance of him earning distinction if sent South. Kohara Will be Right Again Kohara, who is now trained by the veteran Hawera mentor, Jim Bullock, figures among the list of entrants in the three thousand pound events which are the main features of the national fixture at Addington next month. The 1927 New Zealand Cup winner is evidently coming along all right again and if started his form will bo watched with interest by a host of admirers of the Cathedral Chimes horse, who believe he is capable of winning the big November event for the second time.
