Boy Knocked Down. —Roy Walker, whose parents live in Manning Street, was slightly hurt when he was knocked down by a motor-car in Panmure Road on Saturday evening. He was taken to hospital but later was allowed to go home.
Sudden Death of Baby. —While being brought into Te Kuiti on Saturday morning to receive medical attention, the death occurred of the eight-months-old son of Mr. Harold Vincent Julian, of Te Mapara. At the inquest held in the afternoon a ve.rdict was returned that death was due to influenza and complications.
Man’s. Skull Fractured. —Mr. Albert Haydock, a single man, aged 28, who lives at 11 Truro Road, Edendale, was admitted to hospital on Saturday afternoon with a fractured skull. It is thought that he was hurt in a motorcycle accident. He improved a little yesterday but is still seriously ill.
Drink His Trouble. —“Drink is his trouble,” said Chief Detective Hammond when John Patrick Phillips came up for sentence at the Police Court this morning, having been previously convicted for the theft of £5 7s from his late employer, Mr. E. le Roy. Phillips was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon.
