By ABY DOS. DONIS HUON CASE ROKKJER OUT AGAIN WAS HORSE DOPED? ANALYST RETICENT After being shrouded in secrecy for the best part of a fortnight, the veil of mystery has not even now been lifted from the sensational Donis Huon trotting case. Definite action has been taken by the stewards of the New South Wales Trotting Club, at whose meeting - at Kpping the horse’s performance caused the stewards to investigate, but the belated report that has been made public is somewhat vague, says a Sydney exchange. After several previous adjournments, the following official report was made available to the Press: The inquiry into the running of Donis Huon in the first division of the Approved Handicap, at the July 3, 1925. meeting of the New South Wales Trotting Club, was concluded by the stewards at the office of the club. After taking further evidence, the stewards disqualified the brown gelding Donis Huon, the driver, C. Rokkjer. and the owner, S. Ft. Garvin, for 12 months, under rule 127, section P.” Section (pf of rule 127 deals with disqualifications in the case of fraudulent, improper, or corrupt practice on the turf, so that the offence of which those concerned are guilty still remains a mystery. So bad was Donis Huon’s display "hen favourite at Kpping that doping "as immediately suspected, and swabs "f the horse’s saliva were taken for analysis. And now, after the inquiry has been concluded, and action has ° een taken by the stewards, it is still unknown whether or not the horse was doped. Nothing official has been given ••ut regarding the finding of the analyst. and that gentleman. Mr. F. L. ''att. when spoken to, declined to nmke any statement in connection "ith the result of the analvsis. The only thing certain is that Chris. Rokkjer has had more than his share trouble recently. It is only a few months since he returned to the game utter six months’ disqualification, brought about by the running of HeadbSht in a race at Kpping. and it is only a little while ago that the court Awarded £750 images against him f°r injuries caused by a car he was driving.
