EMPIRE
A BIG PROGRAMME Heading the special programme to be shown this evening at the Empire Theatre are two vaudeville items, the first being Charles Delaney, the renowned ventriloquist, and the other “The Rose Duo,” a pair of vocalists, instrumentalists and dancers.
The pictorial side of the programme is headed by the comedy-drama,
“Finger Prints,” starring Louise Fazenda. It deals with a band of criminals who have stolen 5,000,000 dollars from a bank. The leaders of the gang are arrested and convicted, but the money is not recovered. It is hidden in a house far off in the country. The one man who knows the hiding place is in prison, and it is upon him that the detectives operate, in order to get information. They learn enough to get to the right house. But when they are there the mystery thickens. It is mystery liberally sprinkled with comedy, and, while the backbone of the story is straight melodrama of unexpected thrills, its flesh and blood is laughter.
“Arizona Wildcat,” the second picture, is one of Tom Mix’s latest, and shows this popular star in a new r<?le, that of polo player.
