WORLD FELLOWSHIP FUND
Y.W.C.A. RAISE MONEY BY FAIR To help in raising the New Zealand quota of the World Fellowship Fund a Mother Goose Fair was held yesterday afternoon and evening by the Y.W.C.A. Miss Ellen Melville, who opened the fair, gave an address on the World Fellowship movement, saying that it had succeeded in linking up branches •in 48 countries. She outlined the i movement’s policy of exchanging mem- ! bers and mentioned that a New Zea- | land member would be sent to China j this year. j The fair, which lasted from 2.30 io ! 0.30 p..m, was a huge success. Each j stall was decorated to represent a nursery rhyme. The stallholders were as • follow: —Apron stall. Mothers 4 Club: j cake stall. Cafeteria Committee; produce stall, Membership and Emigration Committees; sweet and fancy stalls, Girl Citizens; handkerchief stall, Athletic Committee; gift stall, Senior and Education Department. Afternoon tea was given by the Holiday, House and House Committee. The sideshows were run by the Overseas Girls, the most important ones being Mrs. Jarley’s Wax Works. A fine cooking demonstration was given in the main lounge by Miss L. Spencer, one of the club girls.
