FANCY DRESS DANCE The members of the Dunedin Club j held a very say fancy dress dance and j card party last evening in the club--1 rooms, Wyndham Street, where Mrs. 1 Raymond, charmingly dressed as I Madame Pompadour, made a gracious ! hostess. The prize for the best dressed ! man and woman was won by Mr. and Mrs. De Marr, as a Rajah and an Eastern dancer. Mrs. King, as a dainty Dolly Varden, Mrs. Wilkie, as a Vanity Powder Puff, Mr. Wilkie in the dashing guise of a toreador, and Mr. McDonald, as Winter, were other prize-winners. A card tournament was held in the lounges and was won by Miss Sieaeberg, Mr. Clark and Mr. King. During the evening a vote of sympa- | thy was extended to the Superintendj ent of Police, Mr. W. G. Wohlmann, on : his recent bereavement. Among those present were: i Mrs. J. Smith, frock of black lace and georgette. i Mrs. Stephen Hunter, flower-patterned j frock of georgette. Miss McDonald, bricque crepe de chine. I Miss A. E. Hammer, rose pink beaded georgette over crepe de chine. Mrs. F. Wright, leaf-green georgette I trimmed with beige georgette. Miss Mclndoe, blue satin charmeuse. Mrs. Burt, wine and beige georgette frock. Miss Emerson, cyclamen embossed georgette. Mrs. Cox, black sequinned frock. Miss Darling, frock of panne velvet and cloak trimmed with silver. Miss Farquhar, cerise georgette and gold tissue. Mrs. A. T. Long, jade panne velvet. Mrs. A. Smith, silver beaded frock of georgette. Mrs. Gow, grey and navy blue crepe de chine frock. Mrs. Mitchell, floral frock of tissue. Mrs. Munro Clark, powder blue crepe de chine and silver lace. Miss Hamilton, rose georgette and panne velvet. Mrs. Baird, black figured marocain. Mrs. Thatcher, black crepe de chine with cream Indian shawl. Mrs. Bishop, black velvet with jet trimming. Mrs. Hay, midnight blue and silver lace. Mrs. Hamilton, jet and silver beaded georgette. Mrs. Sherriff, figured georgette and silver lace, with pleated skirt. Mrs. M. Iv. Scott, beige lace over lavender crepe de chine. Mrs. Oliver, black and white georgette with gold and silver beading. Mrs. Dodd, black georgette with beaded tunic.
