POSED AS BANK OFFICIAL JEWELLER’S BIG LOSS A Marseilles jeweller, M. And™ Jullien, after having cashed a cheque for 10.000 francs at his bank, had gone about 200 yards of the way back to to shop when a breathless young m* ll came up to him. “I am sorry f sir,” said the young man, “but the bank manager woold be glad if you would came back to the bank, as some mistake has been made in the taking of the numbers of the bank notes given to you.” The jeweller walked back with the “clerk,** w T ho showed him into ante-room leading to the private offlco of the bank manager.
