SIX HUNDRED PUPILS
PT. CHEVALIER SCHOOL At the monthly meeting of the Point Chevalier School Committee the headmaster, Mr H. J. Woller, stated that the school this week had reached the 600 mark, for the roll number now stood at exactly 600, made up of 332 boys and 268 girls. “Naturally, we feel very proud of these figures, and our visiting school inspector, Mr. McMurtrie, heartily congratulated the staff and the enterprising school committee on this achievement. It has been a great growth in the three years,” he said. Pupils are receiving treatment at the Grey Lynn Dental Clinic. The committee is asking the City Council to remove the Wainui section to Te Ra Road (School Road), as the present section is not suitable for the children and a great drawback in wet weather.
