SIXPENCE A HEAD

UPKEEP OF MUSEUM The Auckland Museum authorities submitted to the Onehunga Borough Council last evening a copy of the proposed Bill to be placed before Parliament this session, enacting that certain specified suburban local bodies shall contribute annually the sum of £ 6,000 toward the upkeep of the institution, on the basis of 6d a head of population. The Bill provides for three representatives from such local bodies to have seats on the Executive Council of the Museum. After hearing Messrs. H. E. Vaile and G. Archey in support of the Bill, the Mayor said that the council after considering the Bill in committee would communicate its decision.
